IT4Causes is proud to be an off-campus Federal Work Study agency with both Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond. Our past and present interns have great things to say about their experiences with us (just scroll back in time on our blogs to see). We’re now seeking students for the 2018-19 academic year for the following positions:
Event Management Internship – FWS
Want to help build a new tradition in RVA? IT4Causes is a local startup nonprofit agency, and we want to grow our signature annual fundraising event, Tech4All. We’re looking for someone who can help us pull off a family-friendly technology oriented event this fall, as well as run a series of fundraising happy hours throughout the year.
IT4Causes is seeking a student with a Federal Work Study grant to serve as our Event Management intern. In this role, you’ll work with staff and volunteers to help pull together the Third Annual Tech4All technology fair and fundraiser. You’ll help contact potential sponsors, seek in-kind and monetary donations, organize partners who want to display their technical offerings in a shared space, plan food and beverage, coordinate with the facility, help with promotion, and of course, help us run day-of-event activities. With guidance of our staff and our great group of volunteers, you’ll have plenty of help, but we will be counting on you to do the legwork to make sure we build on the success of prior events so that people will want to come year after year. You’ll also help us run 4 other smaller events throughout the year. Our small staff means you’ll get to know all parts of our business, and because we serve other nonprofits, you’ll get to meet leaders at many other charities in RVA. We’ll provide a ton of networking opportunities, and you’ll work with us to build capacity in not just one agency but in many organizations around the region.
As a startup, we offer high growth potential. Expectations are an average of 10 hours per week during the school year with some flexibility to accommodate exams and breaks.
Where possible, we prefer to use the same interns for multiple semesters and through the summer.
Applicants selected for interview will be given instructions for a writing assignment to prepare for the interview to demonstrate written communications skills.
This is a Federal Work Study position. You must have an FWS grant to be considered for the role. We will select candidates to participate in interviews for this role.
IT Implementation Internship – FWS
IT4Causes is a local startup nonprofit agency. Our mission is to provide stable, secure, and sustainable information technology solutions that enable other nonprofit organizations to focus on their missions and serve their clients better, with lower total cost to their organization and the community. We are currently seeking students with Federal Work Study grants to serve as IT Implementation Interns.
As an IT Implementation Intern, you’ll work with our Project Manager and teams of skilled IT volunteers to implement best-in-class small business IT solutions at deserving nonprofit (we like to call them “for-purpose”) agencies across RVA. You’ll leverage third party products and tools we’ve developed to build towards a strong IT strategy and infrastructure. In the process, you’ll learn a ton about real life cloud-based solutions for file management, office productivity, accounting, fundraising, and case management, as well as web site development, social media, and networks. You’ll have opportunity to work with IT professionals in all stages of their careers, and you’ll meet some true experts in their fields. As a startup, we offer high growth potential. As a volunteer and IT service nonprofit, we offer some of the broadest networking opportunities possible. Expectations are an average of 10-15 hours per week per school semester, with flexibility to accommodate exams and breaks. Desired Qualifications: High interest in IT · System Admin/Office 365 Admin · Web Development / WordPress · Cloud applications · Small business Information Technology · Mac and Windows |
